Childhood Cancer is the number #1 disease killer of American children—more than asthma, diabetes, cystic fibrosis, AIDS and muscular dystrophy combined. Faith’s Crossing is a 501(c) (3) non-profit organization that is dedicated to providing peer support and education groups for families across Georgia who has a child with cancer. One in every 330 American children will face cancer before age twenty. Our mission is to ensure that Georgia families do not battle childhood cancer alone. Our founder is a mother of a child diagnosed at age 4 with Leukemia, Alexa Faith which is where Faith’s Crossing originated. She wanted to educate, strengthen and help serve families. Faith’s Crossing offers monthly meetings for families where parents talk about the problems they face in their day to day battles with childhood cancer. Family relationships are severely strained once a child is diagnosed with cancer. During the three hour meetings the parents can work through the problems they face with each other while the children are offered different classes such as basketball, karate, yoga, art and tumbling. As we get more input from the children about what they would like to learn, we may go more into basics of baseball and have professional players come and talk with the kids.
